AdSense, Sports websites and Images

Hello all

I will like to start a sports website. The content will not be copy & paste but I will read the news stories and rewrite it in my own words and then publish with images related to the story. So here are my questions:

Having been approved for first stage of AdSense but was disapproved for second stage for a blog, is it very likely that I’ll be approved with this new sports website I’m about to launch?

Will I have a copyright issue with the images? Because I will have to use images already online and if yes, what if I edit the images and reproduce them as jpeg, will I still have copyright issues? Thanks
