Tools I would not want to miss for developing my websites

Hi

There are some tools that I really would not want to miss when I
work on a new website or my current projects.

My most favorite tools are:

  • Mozilla Firefox Browser – for me personally the best browser there is
  • Firebug – the single most important tool for working with HTML and CSS
  • ColorZilla – A very neat color picker
  • MeasureIt – Lets you measure things on a website
  • YSlow – Tips to improving the performance of your websites after analysis
  • PageSpeed – Tips to improving the performance of your websites (requires Firebug)
  • W3C Validator – only valid HTML is good HTML
  • UltraEdit – my personal favorite text editor for programming

What are the tools you would not want to miss for developing your web projects?

    Hi,

I have almost the same list as you, but prefer another text editor. When I started maintaining my own webs I started using (Resource no longer exists), and I still like it a lot.

A must have for me is Xampp. I don´t always use it but there's times where it comes in very handy, especially for testing important modifications to my forum.

I use the documentation on php.net quite often.

Another very handy tool is Google. It helped me out countless times when I was stuck with something.

    Greetings.

Why not use Firefox for web development?

I never used another browser but who says you can't use one for surfing (like Chrome) and one for developing your websites?

I also use Firefox with Colorzilla. That's the best browser for sure (not maybe fastest but best)

I also use alexa bar for firefox, it's not %100 accurate but again a nice tool to evelauate a site.

And my other fav tools are Paint and Photoshop :)

I'm using the exact same tools :) Instead of UltraEdit I'm using Notepad++.

Without Firebug, I can't imagine how many page refreshes I have to do to see what effect my CSS changes have!

For PHP dev, I make use of NuSphere. After using this, I can't believe I was making use of Dreamweaver!
