Is there any way to stop foreign language ads appearing on my site?

I have changed the settings to disallow interest based ads but the relevancy of ads on my site is not great. The site is on an aspect of skin care/skin problem but I am seeing some german ads for stopping smoking, the other day there were some french ads (I have not noticed this phenomenon on other sites and am wondering if this is because I set up this site in the ‘show your site to advertisers as a target for ads’?!

Sorry if this is not the right place in the forum to post this question but I would be glad of any help or advice from more experienced adsense users.
