Anyone tried DoubleClick Ad Exchange?

I just stumbled upon DoubleClick Ad Exchange and as far as I can grasp the concept it sounds promising.

What I don’t (yet) fully understand is:

  • Are there minimum requirements (AIs) for publishers to join (can’t find any information on that)?

As far as I could find information on it, it seems that Ad Exchange only integrates into DoubleClick for Publishers not the Small Business Version. Does anyone knows more about this?

I contacted them today and hopefully they get back to me.

Change in the totals in Adsense

(written by Toon)

Not sure if this is the correct place to post but I wondered if anyone else has seen a sudden change in the daily totals of their adsense account.

I recently changed to the new UI but I doubt this has anything to do with it.

Before my Adsense total for the day would start small and gradually rise as the day went on totalling up this way throughout the day in an upward step.

Just recently though everytime I go to my Adsense account and refresh it jumps from high to low and back again all day. I know the total is estimated and worked outby the worth of the clicks, but why now for example.

First thing this morning my total was 00.23, it rose gradually over a few hours to something like 27 clicks and 06.46 in the total, then a while ago refresh again shows 31 clicks and a total of 01.12.

I’ve never had a descreasing total before and wanted to know if anyone else has noticed this change and mainly to be sure it’s not something I have set up wrong?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Clarifying AdSense ad implementation policies

We’ve recently made some changes to the language of our program policies. We highly encourage publishers who have signed the AdSense online Terms and Conditions to check the AdSense program policies often, and we’d like to take a moment to clarify our ad implementation policies and mention a few updates that have been made.

Publishers are encouraged to experiment with a variety of placements and ad formats to enhance the user experience and thereby maximize their earnings. However, altering the behavior, targeting, or appearance of AdSense ads without explicit approval from Google is generally prohibited.

Demystifying the duplicate content penalty

It is very simple: there is no duplicate content penalty

Google does not “penalise” duplicate content – it will just show one page over another.

If there are 3 pages of duplicate content on your website it generally will only show 1 result on a Google results page, (unless the search is incredibly longtail and specific – but of course we now get the “omitted results” link displayed).

Google just shows the content that it feels is most relevant to the users search. New algorithms take into account things like content age (so original content is more likely to rank higher).
