Hi, I just signed up and am really looking forward to learning more.
I only started online a year ago so I have tons to learn. I am enjoying building sites and writing content. Now I want to learn more about monetizing my sites with adsense.
I feel with the amount of traffic I have managed to generate through my SEO efforts I should be earning more so I am going to roll my sleeves up, get stuck in and learn all I can from you guys!

I just found this very interesting and very detailed article from Eric Giguere providing a step by step guide into creating microniche sites and how to monetize them with AdSense.
Even though my approach to earning money with AdSense is to have a few very big sites that earn the money the read was very interesting.
If you are creating microniche sites or if you spent some thoughts about it this article is definitely worth reading:

I feel so defeated about losing CTR battle with some sites..

On some sites I can’t get to 5% CTR and it’s very annoying.
1.2% on one, less than 1% on two others..
While on the other hand, on other sites I have better results, in french one at 3% and one at around 20% !
Yes, I should be able to have CTR from 5% by ad placement, most of the time, no? But I can’t reproduce the ctr of over 10% on other sites..
I feel I have lost a global vision of ad placement to increase ctr, what works really? Not increasing from 1% to 2% but really rising the ctr to a minimum of 5% it’s not that hard?
Is it just the Christmas season or are all the changes paying off

I know that the 4th season is the one season where Advertisers spend the most of their advertising budged however compared to October my overall earnings (if they keep continuing this way for the whole December) increased about 160%.
I really hope that the drop in January is not that high.
How are your earnings increasing this Christmas season?
Did you prepare your Ad placements to be ready for all the extra advertising money to be spend on your site?

Just added noarchive to all my forums
Whenever I log in to my AdSense Account I notice that more and more “unauthorized sites” show my AdSense Ads which mostly are Google caches from a different countries.
My allow list is full (over 40 entries) of Google domains.
That is why I started to rethink my approach on allowing Google (and other SEs) to cache my websites and I came to the conclusion that there is no real reason for a search engine to cache my website content.
My Server has a guaranteed uptime of 99,8% so not reaching my site will hardly if ever happen.
Besides cached versions keep visitors away from my websites.
That is why of today I set my websites to noarchive for all search engines.
I doubt it will have much effect on my rankings but that was the biggest con point in my considerations.
How do you approach this topic?
