Are Images above or next to Ads allowed?
Placing images above or next to AdSense ads is not necessarily prohibited by program policies.
However, depending on the method of implementation this could be considered “encouraging users to click on ads”.
Encouraging users to click on the Google ads appearing on your site is prohibited by AdSense program policies.
The reason for this is to prevent artificial inflation of advertiser costs.
This benefits both advertisers and publishers by preserving the integrity of the network,
and maintaining its long-term viability.
A rule of thumb is that if you want to place images next to your Adsense Ads to increase your CTR it most likely is against AdSense Program Policies.

Are there animated ads in Google?
Yes. You can get animated image or flash Ads if you opt-in for image Ads.
Can Adsense be in pop-ups?
According to AdSense program policies:
To ensure a positive experience for Internet users and Google advertisers, sites displaying Google ads may not:
Be loaded by any software that can trigger pop-ups, redirect users to unwanted websites, modify browser settings or otherwise interfere with site navigation. It is your responsibility to ensure that no ad network or affiliate uses such methods to direct traffic to pages that contain your AdSense code.
Publishers are encouraged to experiment with a variety of placements and ad formats.
However, AdSense code may not be placed in inappropriate places such as pop-ups, emails or software.

The reason for this policy is that Google believes strongly in providing a positive experience for the user.
We have found that pop-ups, pop-unders, etc. take away from the user experience.
Can Amazon Ads be on the same page as Google Ads?
Yes. You can display other Ads on the same page with Google AdSense Ads as long as they don’t look like Google Adsense Ads.

In order to prevent user confusion, publishers may not display Google ads or search boxes on websites that also contain other ads or services formatted to use the same layout and colours as the Google ads or search boxes on that site.
Although you may sell ads directly on your site, it is your responsibility to ensure that these ads cannot be confused with Google ads.
Can I add Ads within posts of vBulletin or phpBB?
Yes. Look at the vBulletin Mod “[vBulletin 4] Adsense Integration as second post” for Example.
You can also place Ads within a post as long as the Ads are not formated so that they become indistinguishable from other content on that page and the site content is not formated so that it is difficult to distinguish it from Ads.
Can I change the colors of my Ads?
Yes. When you set up a new Adsense Ad you can change the colors of this Ad Unit.
Can I have Google Ads in E-Mail?
No.

Can I place Yahoo and Google ads on the same site?
Yes… BUT they can not be on the same page.

How do I get my Ads displayed in Adsense Ads?
Sign up for Google AdWords and start Advertising.
How do I use section targeting to emphasize or downplay specific areas of my website?
Section targeting allows you to suggest sections of your text and HTML content that you’d like Adsense to emphasize or downplay when matching ads to your site’s content.
By providing Adsense with your suggestions, you can assist Adsense in improving your ad targeting.
However Adsense recommends that only those familiar with HTML attempt to implement section targeting.
To implement section targeting, you’ll need to add a set of special HTML comment tags to your code.
These tags will mark the beginning and end of whichever section(s) you’d like to emphasize or de-emphasize for ad targeting.
The HTML tags to emphasize a page section take the following format:
<!-- google_ad_section_start -->
and
<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
You can also designate sections you’d like to have ignored by adding a (weight=ignore) to the starting tag:
<!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) -->
You can use section targeting to make suggestions about as many sections of a page as you like.
However, please be aware that Adsense can’t guarantee results, and that it may take up to 2 weeks before the Adsense crawlers take into account any changes you’ve made to your site.
In order to properly implement this feature, you’ll need to include a significant amount of content within the section targeting tags.
Including insufficient content may result in less relevant ads or PSAs.
In addition, please keep in mind that this feature should only be used to emphasize significant sections of your site’s relevant content. It is against the AdSense program policies to manipulate the ad targeting to result in ads that are not relevant to the content of your pages.
How many Ads can I place on one page?
AdSense publishers may place up to three AdSense for content units on one webpage.
You may also place a maximum of three link units and two search boxes on each webpage.
I got some English text on my site, but it’s mostly *other language*. Why do I mostly get PSAs?
It looks like PSAs are appearing because *other language* is currently not supported by the AdSense program.
While there is some English content, it is probably not enough for Adsense crawlers to be able to determine the meaning of your page and serve relevant ads.
If you are not satisfied with the ads that are appearing, remove the code until Adsense is able to support *other language*.
If you are using AdSense for search continuing to use this option in the meantime.
If not you might consider using Adsense for Search as alternative way of earning revenue.
AdSense serves ads that are relevant to the text-based content of a given site, which provides a positive experience for advertisers, users and publishers. If AdSense is placed on a site written in an unsupported language, the ads probably won’t be relevant.

Yes.
Is it OK to direct users to a particular keyword in my Custom Search Engine?
Read the ‘Implementation and Operation of Ads, Search Results, and Referrals’ section of the AdSense ToS:
Except for related Google queries, all search queries (including queries entered into an Ad search box) must originate from individual human end users inputting data directly into a Search Box (or Ad search box, as applicable) on Your Property(ies).
You will send any and all queries (without editing, filtering, truncating, appending terms to or otherwise modifying such queries individually or in the aggregate) to Google and Google will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide You with corresponding Search Results and/or Ads, as applicable and as available.
Also, as per the AdSense program policies
Queries must originate from users inputting data directly into the search box and cannot be modified.
This includes pre-populating the search box with terms or hard-coding direct links to search results pages.
AdSense for search code may not be integrated into any software application such as a toolbar.
Is it possible to filter keywords or general topics from your ads?
You can block Ads by Categories but not by keywords.
- New Interface: Log into your Adsense Account, go to the “Allow & block ads” Tab and edit “Sensitive categories”.
- Old Interface: Log into your Adsense Account, go to the “AdSense Setup” Tab and change “Filtered Categories:”.
Is there any way to see what Ads my visitors are clicking?
No. But if you use Google Analytics on your website and if you integrated your Google Adsense Account into your Analytics Account you can see which pages perform best with Adsense.
Some times I get “Page could not be found” with a 404 error, where the Ad should be. What do I do?
This can happen if you just created your new Ad Unit.
It can take up to 10 Minutes for Adsense to first display Ads on a newly created Ad Unit.
If that is not the case make sure you alternative ad URL is working.
If this also does not help contact adsense-support@google.com.
They should be able to tell you what’s happening.
Why am I getting PSAs?
There are several possible reasons for why you get Public Service Ads:
- Google has not yet crawled all the pages of your website.
- Your page may contain sensitive content for which relevant paying ads will not be displayed.
- The AdSense code was placed within an IFRAME (not allowed!)
- Your web pages are behind a login. (you can give the Adsense Crawler access at “Account settings >> Crawler access”)
- There are too many URLs added to your account filter list. (Only block Advertisers that you really don’t want to see on your website!)
- Your web page may not contain enough content (create more content!)
- Your site content is primarily in an unsupported language.
- Your site has restricted access using a robots.txt exclusion. (User-agent: Mediapartners-Google must be allowed to crawl your site)
- Your website is using frames. (Get rid of frames and use CSS!)
Tip: If you don’t want PSAs in general during set up of an Ad Unit you can select to not display PSAs and instead fill the Ad space with a color.
Why are Ads not appearing on my site?
You will need to enable JavaScript in your browser in order to view Google ads on a website.
Personal firewall software or ad blocking software can cause Google ads to not display.
If your site was previously disapproved, and is later reconsidered and approved for the AdSense program,
there may be a delay of up to 48 hours before all of Googles servers are informed of the change and ads begin appearing on your site.
Also if you just created a new Ad Unit it takes up to 10 Minutes before AdSense first serves Ads in this Ad Unit.
Why don’t I see any change in ads after using section targeting?
It may take up to 2 weeks before the Adsense crawlers take any changes you’ve made to your site into account.
