If you are in the USA, yes. You may need to pay quarterly or get fines.
As for other countries, odds are you do. Check with your local tax office.

I didn’t get my check. How do I request a reissue of a check?
If you receive payments by standard delivery check, you can request a reissue of a payment 60 days after it is issued.
If you receive checks by secure delivery, you can request a reissue of any month’s payment after the 5th of the following month.
For example, to request a reissue of a check originally dated March 27th, submit your request on or after April 5th.
To request a new check, please complete this form and specify the number, date, and amount of the check that you’d like reissued.
You can find this information by visiting your Payment History page and clicking on the details link related to the payment for the appropriate month.
Please allow approximately 15 days from your request of a check reissue for your earnings from that check to be credited back to your account.
You will see a “Check stopped – earnings credited back” line appear on your Payments page.
If this line appears before the 15th of the month, your earnings will be included in that month’s payment cycle.
If this line appears after the 15th, your earnings will be included in the next month’s payment cycle.
I earned money but I got no clicks, how can that be?
You had CPM Ads displaying on your page.
With CPM (“cost-per-thousand-impressions”) Ads you earn money each time an Ad is displayed.
Other people are getting the Payment In Progress message but I’m not. What’s up with that?
Not every one gets the message at the same time.
Google is known for giving the message to those getting paid by check first, then a few days letter the EFT payments start getting progressed.
If you don’t get the message by the end of the month, E-Mail Google, if you made over $100 last month.
What do I do if my EFT payment fails?
Look at the notice on your Payment History page. Reentering your bank info can fix some issues, or you may have to contact Google.
When will I get payed?
In the AdSense program, you’ll be paid when your earnings reach the payment threshold, as long as there are no holds on your account, and you’re in compliance with Google Adsense Program Policies.
However, AdSense does not send you a check or bank transfer at the exact moment the zeroes roll over.
First, AdSense has to validate your earnings for accuracy – a process that takes place the first week of every month on the previous month’s earnings. Then, AdSense sends payments a couple weeks later, usually during the last week of the month.
So if your earnings reach the payment threshold in February, AdSense will send you a payment before the end of March.
If your account balance hasn’t reached the payment threshold at the end of the month, AdSense rolls your earnings over to the following month, until the payment threshold is reached. Balances include your total combined earnings for all AdSense products.
