I am new to this forum, but plan on being a fixture in here :).
My adsense has plummetted in the past couple of months, and I don’t know why. I’ve been doing adsense for many years, so am not a newbie, but have not really stayed up current best practices.
So, what are the best placements on a page for highest clicks?
Would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks,
Mike
look at this Thread! This is for me the best place.
AdSense integration together with nice welcome message
Posting in another forum isn't the best solution.
And just taking and then complaining isn't either.
Looks good your golf page. I'd change just one thing to allow the visitor to do his adsense click:
Move the large picture with the slider menu for more posts one level down.
You have the site title, then the dark grey bar with the main keyword menu on top, that's OK, but the large slider image is in a super prime location (heatmap, where people look when checking out a site) and if you move this image down and push your two boxes with Adsense and you short intro text about hybrid clubs in it's place you might see a nice increase in clicks.
Hope this helps!
Ads first, image after the ads. Two 336 blocks above the image will likely produce higher CTR.
And I'd add that I feel that blending your ad units with your site's layout will have a positive effect too. As they are now they stand out as ads that scream "I am an ad, look at me".
This kind of thing produces in me the opposite effect, I avoid them. Adjust the colours to your site's layout, remove the border from the front page bottom banner (or maybe even better, remove that bottom banner from the frontpage all together) and sit back for a while. Personally, I prefer no ads at all on the home page.
Also, try to put your top menu in one line, I see the last two items on the left, below the first items.
And the ad unit on the middle right doesn´t fit nicely in the box surrounding it, it sticks out on the right.
