My site is growing but my pageviews are not

(written by Musclepricecars)

Hi,
I rank at 384 with Alexa. In December I ranked at 1,700. I was in the money for a while and did not work on my site. Then with some bad investing and now I’m back and need to make money. However, even tho my ranking has increased, my AdSense views have not. Can anyone help? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Dave

Alexa is not such a direct view of your real traffic.

If adsense ad impressions haven't increased since december, then it means your traffic stayed the same.

After the Alexa rank is a 3 months average, so maybe you started in december with bad october and november stats and now you're looking at alexa rank for a better average of january, february march.

But maybe from december to now there haven't been real traffic increase. it's just that now the average month traffic is higher than what it was in october/november.

I am confused. I was getting double the clicks and views 2 years ago before I stopped updating the site. December 2011 I started again becoming a SEO. So according to this site I get this traffic. And I don't know what I am doing wrong.
(Resource no longer exists) Thanks Dave

I don't know too. Maybe there's more competition online in muscle cars 2 years down the road :-)

My traffic has gone up and my Google page views have gone down since December. In December when I worked on the sites SEO the views doubled and traffic slowly grew. Now Traffic is still growing and views have declined more than 50%. Something is wrong. I wish there was a way to find out.

How do you measure traffic? Not only with Alexa rank?

If your traffic is up and Google traffic down, where does your new traffic come from?

I would not use Alexa as a traffic measurement guide, you need to look at your server statistics and not a third party company like Alexa doing guess work. Compete is also not accurate unless you add the code to your server, you can't use them as traffic measurement tool.
