DFP Widget Plugin for WordPress?

(written by unclebobim)

HI

I’m in the process of setting up DFP on my WordPress Site.

My question is because I have different templates that load different headers and sidebars based on which page loads, I need an easy solution to load the asynchronous publisher tags into my sidebar widgets rather than manually editing the code within each page

Is there a plugin to help on this front? 🙂

Do you use DFP in IFRAME mode?

(written by unicorn)

Do you use Doubleclick for Small Business (Publishers) in IFRAME mode?

The disadvantage is that you can not change the size of the ads. A 300×250 ad place will always be 300×250, regardeless if you put in a Large Rectangle Adsense ad within it (it will be stripped) or put no ad within it (the rectangle will be displayed as an empty place).

The advantage is asynchronous delivering, that makes your page faster.

DoubleClick Ad Planner Marketplace

I just received the following Email from Google:

Hello,

In September we launched a new beta feature in DFP Small Business to help give publishers a way to connect with and promote their ad inventory to advertisers. Over the last few months, we have met with many of our publisher and advertiser partners who have been using the Marketplace to collect feedback.

As a result of your feedback, we have found that the current beta does not fit existing market needs of our partners and we will be discontinuing any further Marketplace development.

Over the next few weeks, your DFP Small Business inventory will no longer be viewable in DoubleClick Ad Planner, and the ability to promote your DFP Small Business inventory in Ad Planner will also be removed. To connect with new advertisers, we recommend that you enable your ad units for AdSense and then make your placements available to AdWords buyers to directly target your inventory.

We have learned a lot from this beta trial, and your Marketplace usage and feedback has directly impacted our product development efforts.

Thank you again for your participation and feedback.

Sincerely,
The DFP Small Business Team

To bad. I had hoped that the marketplace would be opened for all publishers to sell advertising directly.

What are your thoughts on this?

Dynamic CPM floor in Google DFP?

(written by arkueckelhan)

I’ve been searching endlessly for an answer to this question. Can I create a dynamic floor -or dynamic network bid- for DFP?

Perhaps by passing some variable in the DFP tag or by other means.

The reasoning for this is that a another network aside from Google will almost never beat Adsense, so setting a floor to try and daisy chain will result in few impressions and a lot of inefficiencies.

The only way to get a real lift would be to accepts a bid response from RTB like Pubmatic/ Rubicon/ Appnexus/ etc. and then pass that bid for that individual impression onto DFP as the network bid/ price floor.

That way Google only serves when it can beat the other network and the other network only serves when it can beat Google (DFP, adsense, whatever you want to call it).

While this is very basic in concept, I have not been able to find a solution anywhere.

Does anyone know a solution?

GearTalk Network

(written by geartalk)

Hello,

I joined today after learning of the site from the owner’s DFP Tutorial site. I operate 6 guitar forum websites and started my first site in 1999. That site has 80,000 members and 1.2 million pageviews per month.

I started using Adsense in 2003 and have been lucky enough to improve my earnings dramatically over that time period.

My two most successful Adsense locations are the two that are highly recommended here — the registration “roadblock” shown to guests and the medium rect in the first post signature position also show to guests. But we are always looking for improvements.

My niche also does well with affiliate programs, especially with eBay’s EPN program.
