Adsense placements in wordpress site giving strange analytics

(written by DaleSW48)

Ad1 is in the header on the homepage and header of all articles.

Ad2 is in the header on the homepage only.

Ad3 is on the right side on homepage and all articles.

Ad4 is in the top of each article only.

Analytics for last 5 days shows:

Ad1 = 46,000 views
Ad2 = 46,000 views
Ad3 = 1,495 views
Ad4 = 16,301 views

I would think then that the homepage is only getting 1,495 views in the 5 days and that Ad4 which appears in every other article would have around 46,000 – 1,495 = 44,505 views but it only has 16,301?

Anyone have any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Thanks for any feedback.
Dale

What do you think of my approach?

(written by rmantech)

Hi,

I have a keyword with 6,600 searhces and £3 cpc, but the keyword is something someone will buy not read articles about.

I’ve been told if u rank page 1 with this keyword people will not read the articles and will actually click the adsense ad looking to buy.

He gave an example of his wicker chair keyword site where people didn’t want to read about articles on wicker chairs so clicked on the adsense ad looking to buy, therefore he made a lot of money from adsense.

Is this true do you think this will work, i need to know as seo is expensive and i don’t want to waste my money on a site that is not going to make money.

What to write to increase comments count on my articles?

(written by JamesColin)

Hello and happy new year to you,

I’d like to pick your brain about a topic that is bothering me a little, that is how to increase the number of comments on my articles?

I know that you can direct people, prompt them to take action by using specific language and action words.

On the CMS I use (Drupal) the sentence before the comment box is simple, like “Comments” something very simple just to indicate that the commenting comes next.

I’ve switched to a long sentence I have noticed that the frequence of comments both from members and visitors has slightly increased, but I also had some negative comments about the wording, like begging for comments…

Here’s what I have now:
