AdSense inside the 2nd post – AdsenseExperts Exclusive
This is another AdSense implementation for your vBulletin 4.0 Forum.
This placement is exclusively released for AdsenseExperts.
You are allowed to use this placement on your own forum, however republishing this modification on other website is only allowed with prior written consent by me.
What this mod does
This mod adds a Google Adsense rectangle inside the 2nd post of each thread and page.
It is blended to complement your forum content but is clearly labeled as Ad to strictly separate Ads from content. This approach is taken for the reasons discussed here:
Is too much blending bad for business?
Make sure you use the same colors as you use on your forum to optimize blending!
This mod goes perfectly with my other AdSense Integration mods:
- AdSense inside the first post – AdsenseExperts Exclusive
- AdSense inside the last post – AdsenseExperts Exclusive
If you want to display the AD in the 2nd post on the right side of the content like in the
AdSense inside the first post mod, simply copy the code and CSS from there.
This mod shows the AD only to GUESTS!
If you want to show it to your members as well remove the “$show[‘guest’]” condition!

I would highly appreciate a review of my forum guys. I have really been working extremely hard on getting all my adsense placements on the correct spots, as per recommendations from this site. And I have really seen a drastic increase in my earnings too.
Please tell me where I can improve!
Thank you so much!
Kind regards,
Pierre

Different strategies to use AdSense Channels
Hello everyone,
today I want to expand on the topic of Adsense Channels and talk about different
strategies on using channels to track your results and optimize your Ad placements.
There are many different strategies for using adsense channels.
In this thread I want to discuss two different approaches on using adsense channels.
- Approach 1: Track each single Ad Unit
- Approach 2: track different ad formats and placements
Let’s start.

Do larger Ad formats really work best?
Hello
Until today I thought that bigger Ad formats tend to do better in CTR and eCPM (RPM) then smaller formats.
So I thought:
- 125×125 < 234×60 < 468×60 < 728×90, and
- 180×150 < 200×200 < 250×250 < 300×250 < 336×280
Of course Ad size depends on the design of a website and therefor a nicely blended smaller Ad can have better effect then an out of place bigger Ad.
- But wait, is it really this linear?
- Are bigger Ad formats really better in earnings?
A few month ago I did a 50:50 split test for about 1 day and compared a large rectangle with the medium rectangle.
In that days I did not have image Ads activated.
The medium rectangle performance was so low that I kicked it right away.
Yesterday, after spending much thought on this I started a new 50:50 split test again with a Large Rectangle comparing to a medium rectangle.
And so far the results are overwhelming.
Do you use DFP in IFRAME mode?
(written by unicorn)
Do you use Doubleclick for Small Business (Publishers) in IFRAME mode?
The disadvantage is that you can not change the size of the ads. A 300×250 ad place will always be 300×250, regardeless if you put in a Large Rectangle Adsense ad within it (it will be stripped) or put no ad within it (the rectangle will be displayed as an empty place).
The advantage is asynchronous delivering, that makes your page faster.
