728 x 90 Leaderboard below the fold

Hi, I used to put a 728 x 15 link unit above my article and a 728 x 90 leaderboard at the end of the article. However, every website advising on Adsense placement (including the Adsense official website) that I have read so far advises that Adsense ads should (as far as possible) be placed above the fold.

I tried putting my 728 x 90 Leaderboard above my article (in place of the 728 x 15 link unit) for a week and I got absolutely NO clicks. I have now changed it to the original position at the bottom of the article and am getting between 10-30 clicks a day. What could be the reason?

What’s my problem then, if placing the Leaderboard at the bottom works? I was told that if I place the 728 x 90 Leaderboard above the fold, I could attract higher paying ads.

A centered Banner below the navbar that is loaded AFTER

Hello everyone.

I had the following problem:

I want to show a leaderboard banner below the navigation centered.

My leaderboard was clicked only half as often as the banners I showed in the thread as 2nd post. So I wanted to load my leaderboard banner AFTER the 2nd post banners so that they get the highest paying keywords.

AdSense Integration as second post

This mod adds a Google Adsense large rectangle after the first post of each thread.
It is blended to look like a regular post in your thread without violating Google adsense TOS. Make sure you use the same colors you use on your forum to optimize blending!

This mod shows the AD only to GUESTS!

If you want to show it to your members as well remove the ” AND $show[‘guest’]” condition!

Gamer Brief – The Drudge Report for Gamers

I am one of the Drudge addicts that keep a tab open almost all day watching for breaking news. The site isn’t fancy and is meant to be something simple and easy to read.

I would like thoughts on my adsense placements. I have been reading a lot lately – followed some tips here from the experts.

I will be writing some stories and publishing them but the majority of my stories are basically a gaming news aggregator and just show people the top stories of the day.

I’ll point out what I have so far.

Only Adsense is being used:

  • Above the top featured story is a leaderboard text/graphics image Above that leaderboard is a 728×15 Link Unit
  • 1st Column on Left side is Large Rectangle 336×280 text/graphics
  • 2nd Column 2 Linkunits placed side by side
  • 3rd Column Large Rectangle 336×280 ONLY TEXT

I have another site that is similar to this so I won’t ask you to help with both of them. Since if I get this one customized just right I can duplicate it there easily.

I do have another site that is completely different that I will ask for input once I feel I am finished with the first complete setup.

Text or Image Ads?

What is your experience with using text or image, or both in regards to clicks and amount per click.

I’m getting emails from google saying that text/image rich ads are much better.
